Sub:- Formation of “Special Squad” for detection of Theft of Energy at Division level.
The Transmission & Distribution Losses inter-alia includes an inbuilt component of “Commercial Losses” which adversely affects the revenue income of the Company. Even though a vigorous drive has been initiated to restrict/ minimize T&D losses, the resultant outcome is not at all encouraging.
The Vigilance Department as well as the O & M Staff, is no doubt taking all possible steps, including surprise checks of the consumer installation to reduce the incidences of theft of electricity, however we are still not able to achieve any remarkable improvement, which is un-necessarily resulting in loss of legitimate revenue income of the Company. This is high time to all out efforts to minimize the commercial losses, which can be achieved by restricting the theft of electricity.
Therefore it is decided to form “Special Squad” at Division level to check the HT/LT Industrial & Commercial consumers so as to detect the Theft of energy. The Special Squad shall be under direct control of Executive Engineer (O&M) Division.
The Special Squad will be headed by the Dy. Executive Engineer (Maintenance) of Division office accompanied with Junior Engineer, Line Man, Line Helper and one Account Staff. They will submit their report in the prescribed format to respective Executive Engineer & Superintending Engineer.
Division wise action taken report of the Special Squad to be sent to Commercial Section every month by Superintending Engineer. All the Superintending Engineers & Executive Engineer are requested to take necessary steps to form the Special Squad immediately.
